Day 2
Encounter with Kel-Suu Lake
This day is dedicated to the true gem of the region — Kel-Suu Lake.
The journey to the lake takes us across the wide Ak-Sai valley. The scenery gradually shifts from green pastures to rugged rocky trails and dramatic cliff formations shaped by glaciers. The landscape feels vast, wild, and almost completely untouched by civilization.
Suddenly, hidden among towering gray rock walls, Kel-Suu Lake appears — long, narrow, and glowing with deep turquoise water. Resembling a remote fjord lost in the mountains, the lake is framed by sheer cliffs that rise straight from the water’s edge. Its color changes with the light, shifting from deep blue to vibrant emerald.
This is a place to slow down. Walk along the shoreline, take unforgettable photographs, or simply sit in silence and listen to the wind echo through the canyon walls. For those who wish, it is possible to explore further or take a small boat ride to fully experience the scale of this natural wonder.
It is a day of complete reset — a rare opportunity to disconnect from the modern world and feel the true magnitude of the mountains.
We return to the yurt camp in the evening, carrying with us the feeling of having experienced something truly extraordinary..
